I’ve been doing a ton of work to prepare for my upcoming Sun Spots Kickstarter (Sept 12!) and one of the biggest efforts has been around organizing a more concentrated PR campaign. Just getting the word out, sending press releases to more places, and engaging with more people and sites as my Kickstarter project ramps up — it’s a lot of work.
So I wanted to share a list of sites that I’ve discovered and vetted as places you can send press releases for your projects. This list is by no-means complete — please suggest additions! This list is specific for tabletop RPGs:
- The Escapist Magazine has a contact page here.
- You can email Aaron at Roleplayers Chronicle.
- I’m a huge fan of Shut Up and Sit Down, who you can email here.
- Contact here for Nerd Rage News
- Tabletop Gaming News is a large network you can contact here.
- Troll in the Corner is a nice site you can contact here.
- EN World is obviously one of the largest sites you can send emails to here.
- Make sure you read this thread on Boardgamegeek.com about getting your projects on the site.
- Gamerati is a massive network of game sites that you would do well by emailing about ad rates.
- Gnomestew is a great site for emailing your press release.
- Polyhedron Collider has both news and reviews and you can email here.
- Melvin Smif’s Geekery has a bunch of great stuff; contact them directly on the site for news and reviews.
- RPG Knights has tons of good stuff on RPGs; contact them here.
- Purple Pawn has gaming news and you can email them here.
- Geek Native has a lot of material about all types of games; contact them here.
- I Will Never Grow Up covers a lot of ground about games and publishing, and provides a form specifically for press releases here.
- Futile Position covers a lot of geekery, and you can contact him directly.
- Email Chris at DiceHateMe certainly.
- You can email Sean of Sean’s Pick of the Day here, but you should probably read this post first.’
- This Facebook group is essential for your Kickstarter press releases.
- The good folks at Nerdarchy have a web page, Facebook site, YouTube channel, and an email, all to help you find your nerdly muse.
You can also Reach out to Nerdarchy. We have a large presence on Youtube and Facebook.
